Humblpye• Show poetry

Hi, I am john Scott, humblpye is my user name, I am an adult male, I live in a strange little town called Corby in Northamptonshire England.

Although I was born in the UK, I regard my true home as Africa, where I spent most of my life. This "divided loyalty" is reflected in many of my poems.

As a young man, I travelled the folk circuit as a singer/ songwriter, but my sagittarian nature always pulled me towards poetry. I am attracted to all things artistic, natural and beautiful; metaphysical and mystical; I am a dreamer and a seeker of true things.

I have a penchant for "story-type" poems; prose, free verse or whatever you want to call them; everyone has a story to tell, this is my way of doing it

I am inspired by everything in life and its creature inhabitants, I marvel every day seeing something new, in me and you

I love: true things; Love, I'm still looking for it;

Music: All of it! the whole universe resonates to the mathematical vibrations of sound

Fave musical artist: All of them; but specific influences; Tom Waits, Neil Young, Dylan, Pogues + anything Irish, Bee Gees, Beatles, Bob Seger, Metallica....

Phobias: things that wobble, worse, if they make a noise when they wobble.. Claustrophobia!, it flies in the face of infinity

Fave quotes: I'll be Back! Jesus; Arnold Schartzenneger; John Lennon: we're all coming back, that's why we're all still here, only names and faces have changed; there is only ONE essence, it lives in all of us, all of the time...
