I have been an art teacher since 1971. About 5-6 years ago, I first tried my hand at poetry while I was a caregiver for my mother. I found it extremely satisfying, like I do with art, only without all the mess. Creating comes from ordinary experience, our environment, our inner feelings and imagination and in our quest for order. For me, the quest for order is the overarching umbrella covering all our experience. And whether I'm drawing or tapping the keys, I'm creating or revisiting order. The short time I've been at AP has been very fulfilling, and I feel I have made strides in clarifying my vision and gained a lot of insight in the art of poetry.

sailor ptolema on July 27i love that you're an Art teacher
. I've loved art since i can remember; which would be pre-school. I was a strange child; in 3rd grade, I'd watch the artists who were on PBS instead of cartoons, and Bob Ross was my fav
. And i was more interested in classical artists, like Dali & Da Vinci (my fav) than barbies

notorious on July 17"Serious with tinges of you never know."
What awesome phrasing.
Although...I can't help but want some hyphens for "you-never-know."
